In 1976, residents around Flintville, Tennessee, began reporting encounters with a huge, hairy creature that seemed to have stepped straight out of a nightmare.
It broke car antennas, damaged vehicles, chased people, and was described as standing seven or eight feet tall. When a mother reported seeing the creature reach toward her four-year-old son, police and armed search parties went looking for it.
They found footprints, hair, and blood, but no monster.
